Start with the page a visitor needs

List the services or products the business actually provides, then check whether each important offer has a clear page. A visitor should be able to tell what is offered, who it is for and how to take the next step without interpreting a long list of keywords.

Check access and indexing

Review whether important pages load, return the expected status and can be found through internal links. Search Console can help identify indexing and experience issues when the site owner has configured access. A sitemap helps discovery, but it does not guarantee that a search engine will index every URL.

Google's SEO Starter Guide explains foundational practices in more detail.

Make each page useful and distinct

Give pages descriptive titles and headings, explain the subject in plain language and include details that help a reader make a decision. Avoid creating multiple pages that differ only by a city name or keyword phrase.

Measure relevant outcomes

Use available analytics and Search Console data to understand discovery and visitor behavior. Decide what counts as a meaningful action for the business, and account for consent choices and measurement limitations. Rankings alone are not a business outcome.

Keep a review routine

Record what changed, who approved it and when it should be checked again. Update pages when services, policies, prices or platform guidance change. Sustainable SEO is a maintenance process, not a one-time checklist.
